About

My name is Dr Theo Shemansky, and I am the Gym MD. It is my goal to discover the keys to unlocking your true performance potential, and then place those keys in the palm of your hand.

About Dr Theo

I have been a GP since 2002, and a Podiatrist prior to that. I have a special interest in sports and performance medicine and spend much of my study time deep in this field.

I have trained and competed at an amateur level in CrossFit since 2016, and I have previously been certified as a level 1 CrossFit trainer. In fact I tavelled to The Ranch, in Aromas, California to attain this qualification as part of the very first CrossFit Health initiative. I continue to train 5 times a week and have no plans on ever stopping!

My passion is to help people become the best versions of themselves possible, by empowering them with the best knowledge and advice that I can glean from the ever evloving field of sports and performance medicine.

What I Offer?

I provide a personal one on one cosultation and assessment, along with a deep dive on blood work and markers that are tailored to your needs and goals, so that I can give you an insight into how your body is performing and how your performance and well being can be optimised through the use of behavioural protocols, nutritional changes, supplements and medication if and when indicated.

 How Is This Done?

I provide this via telehealth and use a program called GP consults to make the video appointment smooth and user friendly. This means that no matter where you are in Australia, I can support your needs. All testing and assessment is sent to you digitally, allowing you to easily use your preferred pathology provider.

Typically your first appointment will involve us meeting over half an hour so that I can get to know you, and then provide you with a referral for your personalised blood tests.

A follow up appointment is then made where I will go through all your results in detail, provide you with a copy of all your results in a user friendly profile where you can easily see where you sit and where your optimal results could be, and then provide you with tools and tactics on how to optimise your levels and overall performance as needed.

Subsequent follow up is then based on what you and I  are doing and how closely you might need to be followed up.

Cost

Each appointment has a fee of $165, and unfortunately Medicare does not supply a rebate as they have a rule that rebates will only be given for telehealth when a face to face appointment has occurred with that doctor in the 12 months prior.
